Anonymous asked: Is it too late to apply for a freshman?
Almost! The deadline is February 1st!! If you send your application after that day, you will then be considered on a space available basis. Hurry up an apply!!
Anonymous asked: hey, im transfering as a to suny esf this upcoming spring (2014) and im really scarred that i wont make any friends because im coming in at such an awkard time (half way through my sophomore year) Do you have any advice for me?
Yes of course! Because ESF is so small, it is really easy to meet people. Class sizes usually aren’t too big (usually around 150 people or less) and labs are even smaller (~20 people or less). There are also many clubs on campus such as the Bob Marshall Club (hiking, backpacking, etc.), the Nautilus Society (scuba), The Birding Club, Trout Bums (fishing), the Alchemist Society (chemistry), Wildlife Society, and more! So my advice for you is to go out and join clubs! Also if you are living in Centennial Hall, hanging out in the lounges is a great way to meet people. Centennial Hall also hosts events such as movie nights, craft nights, and stress-free zones. There are a lot of groups on facebook too, especially for clubs, but also for your class. You’d be graduating in 2016 right? So there is a ESF class of 2016 page you are more than welcome to join :) Let me know if you have any more questions, I’d be happy to help! I’m sure you will find people to hang out with. Us Stumpies are pretty cool!
faunapark asked: Hello! I have applied to SUNY-ESF early decision for conservation biology. The deadline just passed, and I was wondering if you had any information as to how long it takes for a decision to be made by the school, and acceptance letters to be sent...? Thanks~~
Sorry for the late response! It’s finals week over here so its pretty crazy :P I don’t know if there is an “official” amount of time it takes for you to hear back from them, but I can tell you that I applied early decision and I got my acceptance letter around January 13th.
I hope this helps! This blog isn’t anything official from the school. It’s just an appreciation blog run by me (a student). But I will always try to answer any question to the best of my ability! Good luck and I hope you get in :D
